When I first started learning Portuguese almost 20 years ago, I almost gave up.
When I started...
I didn't know what a verb was.
I didn't have a degree in linguistics.
I just wanted to do my job, why did I have to learn all this weird grammar/phonetics/vocabulary stuff?
I failed so much!
I yelled...
I argued...
I cried...
(I failed some more.)
I just couldn't learn.
I remember thinking, "Why is this so hard?"
"Why am I so stupid?"
"Why isn't there another way?"
I bet you've asked yourself the same thing.
Well...
I found another way.
And that's when I really started learning.
And within 6 months, Brazilians were surprised to find out that I wasn't a native speaker.
At first, I thought that I was just really dumb and everyone else already knew how to do this.
So, I spent 11 years at university getting a bachelors, a professional certificate, and then a Masters degree.
But I found something out during those 11 years.
Not even the experts can agree on how people learn English!
So, I gave up teaching their way and taught my way.
Since then, I have taught English to some of the smartest people on the planet...
And I know that the traditional path is the slow path to English fluency.
So, I'm here, ready to share my English Speaking Secrets with you!
